The Hit-Air vest, an equestrian safety vest utilizing air bag technology!

 We are proud to offer the Hit- Air vest, an innovative safety vest utilizing air bag technology! With models starting at just $389, the vest provides a new level of impact protection and safety for equestrians at an affordable price. 

 The Hit –Air equestrian vest was developed specifically for equestrian sports by  Mugen Denko, LTD,  the world’s most experienced manufacturer of airbag safety apparel. Denko’s airbag apparel has been protecting motorcycle riders for over 15 years, and now new models designed for equestrians are available.

  The safety vest is attached by a lanyard to the saddle.  A cartridge of carbon dioxide inflates the vest in one-quarter of a second when a rider is thrown from a horse, providing instant cushioned protection for the neck, spine, chest and tail bone. The vest can be reused after the CO2 cartridge is replaced. When not deployed, the halter style vests are thin, light weight, (approx. 22 ounces) cool, and comfortable.  

  Several national eventing teams, including the US, will be wearing the air vests at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, September 25-Oct 10.

The new Advantage model is a culmination of more than a decade of experience in airbag technology by MUGEN DENKO, LTD. This "harness type" airbag employs the new higher speed key ball mechanism (component that activates the CO2 cartridge).

  • Versatile: for Eventing, Western and other equestrian disciplines, has optional chest padding, back padding, and side paddings.
  • Top fast: 0.15 sec deployment time!
  • The attention to detail is unmatched by any other brand of airbag apparel.
  • The neck airbag , where most injuries occur, inflates first, followed by (in only fraction of a millisecond) the torso and hip airbag. The neck airbag is also significantly larger than the leading competitor's neck air bag.
  • The key box where the CO2 cartridge is deployed is protected from dust and dirt and provides sound insulation to minimize spooking the horse during an unintended deployment.
  • The vest is also more comfortable because the hip air bags are concealed inside a special pocket making it unnecessary to have a long "duck tailed" style that can be uncomfortable in the saddle.
  • The Advantage is also more versatile because it has an additional optional CE back protector and waist side cushions.
  • The new Advantage is also cooler to wear because of the open design. With all of these advantages, it is also more affordable costing hundreds of dollars less!
  • Cartridges:
    Advantage S-XL uses 50cc.
    Advantage 2XL-5XL uses 60cc.

    SV Hit Air Equestrian Super Light Weight Vest (1.76 lbs.)

    This  harness style airbag employs a new high speed key ball mechanism component that activates the CO2 cartridge. The SV2 model is especially light weight, cool and  comfortable, providing an optimum of safety with large side airbags. It is also much quieter when deployed than the competing brand, making it much less likely to spook the horse during an unintended deployment. 
  • New high speed airbag deployment system
  • Recommended for use over body protector
  • Uses 48cc cartridge
  • Available Sizes: 2XSmall, XSmall and Small (they have adjustable straps) and only in black
  • Weight 800g (1.76 pounds)

    SV2 Hit-Air Equestrian Super Light Weight  Airbag Vest, (1.76 lbs.) 

     SV2 has larger side airbags than the SV, and is available in XSmall, XSmall and Small sizes only.

    Saddle Attachment

     The vest lanyard can be looped onto your stirrup holder, or if you prefer you may want to purchase the saddle attachment:
     
     This strap attaches to the dee rings on the pommel of the saddle, the vest lanyard loops onto it. Similar to the common leather "bucking strap", but made instead from unbreakable nylon,  ensuring deployment of the vest. $12.95
